Why we think this is a classy wine to drink

Blueberry Blackberry Smoke Tobacco Leather Spice Cherry Raspberry

  • The Terre di Giumara Frappato-Nerello Mascalese 2015 is a fruity and juicy red Italian wine made from native Sicilian grapes, 50% Frappato and 50% Nerello Mascalese.
  • Completely hand-harvested, one third of the grapes were matured for 4 months in oak.
  • From vineyards benefiting from Sicily's volcanic soils, this multiple gold medal winning red wine tastes of a satiny Super Tuscan with the volcanic minerality of Sicily. Aromas of spicy red and blue berries, red cherries, violets and smoky caramel oak. A particularly fruity and juicy taste with elegantly sultry cherry fruit, a hint of cocoa, and an oily texture.
  • Perfect for mature cheeses and red meat.

About The Winery

Caruso & Minini, two families and two different stories that inter-twine and merge when Stefano Caruso, the third generation of winemakers, met Mario Minini, owner of a marketing company in Northern Italy. Together they founded Caruso & Minini.

The winery, built in 1904, is in the heart of the traditional area of the Marsala wine region. The vineyards of Giummarella and Cuttaia are located on a group of hills east of Marsala, on the border of the municipalities of Salemi and Mazara del Vallo, with a maximum altitude of 450m ASL.

Each part of this wonderful land has been chosen, with the experience of those who have cultivated it for generations, to create the best possible combination between vine, climate and land. The land is home to indigenous vines such as Grillo, Catarratto, Grecanico, Inzolia, Nero d'Avola and Perricone, as well as international vines such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Syrah and Merlot.
