Why we think this is a classy wine to drink

Chocolate Coffee Smoke Tobacco Leather Cassis Blackcurrant Black Fruits Vanilla Oak

  • From the warm south of France, Domaine de la Jasse produces exceptional wines from its vineyards located between Pic Saint-Loup and Terrasses du Larzac in Languedoc, about 15 km from Montpellier.
  • The pedigree of these wines is not only spoken by the land on which the grapes grow but also winemaking mentor Patrick Léon, who joined winemaker and owner Bruno Le Breton in 2009, following more than 20 years of winemaking at Château Mouton-Rothschild !
  • 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Merlot, this wine was pampered for 12 months in the best 225 litre French oak barriques.
  • Deep dark red colour with purple edge and black core. Rich in scent with sultry Cabernet cassis, dark cherries, smoky oak, vanilla and a luxurious hint of cedar. Made in the image of large Pauillacs: beautifully structured Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot by Vieilles Vignes (old vines) of 35 years plus. This wine fills the mouth with concentrated, rich flavours and a creamy structure comprising bold black currants, cedar, mocha and smoky oak. Silky soft, powerful and long with a nice balance. Exceptionally powerful La Jasse with the cassis wealth, richness and complexity of a large Pauillac.
  • Made to pair with a top cut of steak or grilled meats.

About The Winery

The Domaine de la Jasse is located about 15 kilometres north of Montpellier in the heart of the most dynamic wine region in France. In the past, the domain was a hiding place, 'Jasse', for sheep against the bright sun. A shady place under the ancient trees, one of which is still 110 years old in the courtyard of the domain and is now the logo of the domain. In the Mediterranean climate, in addition to an average of more than 300 days of sunshine, La Jasse benefits from the mineral-rich soil with their Vieilles Vignes Cabernet and Merlot.

One of the most important 'cornerstones' of La Jasse's success is winemaker Bruno Le Breton's foresight in bringing in master winemaker Patrick Léon to mentor Bruno's team in 2009. Patrick Léon started his impressive career at Grand Cru Château Lascombes in Margaux, followed by more than 20 years of winemaking at Château Mouton-Rothschild.
