The Domaine Albin Jacumin 'La Begude des Papes' Chateauneuf-du-Pape 2016 is a sumptuous Grenache red blend from the Rhone valley in France that is well suited to rich foods and dark chocolate.

This has the character of a great Australian Grenache-Shiraz-Mataro blend. For devotees of GSM blends, this is a delicious and world-renowned French peer from a great vintage and 60 year old vines.

The 2016 Southern Rhone vintage was rated 99 points by Wine Spectator: "This truly rare [2016] vintage is a new benchmark".

Made for rich foods such as steaks, heavy sauces and dark chocolate. A complex and rich wine that is as enjoyable without food. It offers aromas and flavours of ripe dark plum, thyme, pepper, chocolate and sweet spice.

About The Winery

For over a century, the Domaine Albin Jacumin has seen four generations of winemakers successively pass down their passion and pride from father to son. The domain has evolved, first started by Aimé it was then passed onto his son Alain who managed, with his wife Sylvette, to perpetuate his father’s passion for the noble craft of winemaking. Their son Albin and his wife Agnès are now skillfully striving to maintain and modernise the domain.

The winery is located in the town of Chateauneuf-du-Pape, some 10kms north of Avignon in the south of France. The Domaine Albin Jacumin comprises 19 hectares of Chateauneuf-du-Pape vineyards, 6 hectares of Côtes du Rhone veinyards and one hectare of grapes for table wine.

Its production of Chateauneuf-du-Pape is based on the 13 authorised grape varieties, however the winery focuses on Grenache, Mourvèdre, Shiraz and Cinsaut for its red wines.
