Why we think this is a classy wine to drink

Blueberry Blackberry Red Fruits Spice Black Fruits Vanilla Oak

2016 was an excellent year in Saint-Emilion: rated 97 points by Wine Enthusiast. This Saint-Emilion Grand Cru shows what the wines are capable of in the hands of esteemed local winemakers, like the Bourrigaud family whom have been winemaking for eight generations.

A fantastic ruby red wine with a purple edge and a ripe, charming bouquet of cherries, berries, pepper and vanilla. Round and powerful in the taste, with hints of red and black currants. Thanks to the 12 month preferential treatment in oak barrels, this Merlot/Cabernet Sauvignon/Cabernet Franc red wine impresses with balanced tannins and a perfect balance between fruit and wood. The long, very pleasant finish contains many fruity impressions and a slight spicy note.

Serve between 16-18°C as a delicious accompaniment to lamb and beef roasts, grilled steak or with hard cheese.

About The Winery

Chateau Haut Larguet is a beautiful masterpiece by the Bourrigaud family, who have been producing seductive classic wines since the 18th century. A family with a rich tradition and history, which has been continued for eight generations. Pascal Bourrigaud is from the eighth generation and honors family traditions with a lot of passion and enthusiasm.

The vineyards are planted with Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon on a limestone-clay soil. On and around the chateau people still work in a traditional way. Machines are not involved in plowing the soil and picking the grapes. All the work is done carefully by hand here. Only the best grapes are selected for making the wine. That authentic craftsmanship leads to exceptional results.
