Why we think this is a classy wine to drink

Chocolate Coffee Floral Red Fruits Smoke Tobacco Leather Cassis Blackcurrant

  • Sourced from the Graves region immediately south of the city of Bordeaux and the family-owned Château de Cerons that manages 26 hectares of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
  • From 35 year old vines and the amazing 2015 vintage this is an elegant and creamy left bank Bordeaux red 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot that is great to drink now or the next 5-7 years. The 2015 Left Bank Bordeaux vintage is rated 96 points by Wine Enthusiast and Robert Parker.
  • This Graves red wine has a garnet red colour with sultry aromas of candied strawberry, cherry and cassis, violets, mocha, cedar and fine leather. Creamy and supple in its taste with ripe red cherries, berries, a dash of coffee, some cedar and soft oak from its time in barrel (20% in new French oak). This is a classic and elegant Bordeaux that can be kept for several years.
  • An affordable premium left bank Bordeaux red wine that won Gold amongst its peers. Great with slow cooked meats, barbequed steak and sausages and strong cheeses.

About The Winery

Château de Cérons dates back to the beginning of the 18th century and overlooks the river Garonne on the famed left bank of Bordeaux. The appellation Cérons is one of the oldest, but also one of the most unknown of Bordeaux.

In 2012 Château de Cérons changed management with Xavier and Caroline Perromat taking over. The Chateau continues its focus, under Xavier and Caroline, on local white and red wines.

The soil composition in the area, which borders the Sauternes wine region, is a combination of gravel and sand on a subsurface of mineral limestone. Here the vines are approximately 35 years old with the Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot spread over 26 hectares of vineyards.
