Why we think this is a classy wine to drink

Floral Dry Mineral Tropical Fruit Nutty

    Character of Chardonnay

  • For lovers of Chardonnay, Arneis is a great grape to explore - both Italian and Australian styles. This example comes from the Sartirano family in Piedmont who have been making wine there since 1871.
  • From its Italian homeland of Piedmont in north-west Italy, this wine has a fresh and powerful style. Arneis was added to Barolo to provide a little aromatic lift such is its moniker, "White Barolo".
  • A sensational alternative to Australian Chardonnay or richer Viognier with aromas of tropical fruits, white flowers, nuts and some minerality.
  • This wine will delight with many different foods all year round, and fish, seafood and risotto are great food examples.

About The Winery

Since 1871 the Sartirano family has produced high-quality, Italian quality wines. After a reorganisation in 1941 by Giovani Sartirano, his sons Giovanni and Piero established a modern winery, called "Cantine San Silvestro", named after the area where the winery is located in north-west Italy. Their goal was to create high quality local wines with modern cellar operations.

In 1988, the company expanded by purchasing a historical estate with 15 hectares of vineyards, located in the south of Monforte d 'Alba and named "Tenuta Arnulfo Costa di Bussia". The growth continued, and nephews Paolo and Guido Sartirano bought vineyards in the villages of Novello and Barolo, where since 2006 the company has been headquartered.

The farm is still managed today by Paolo and Guido, with a range of high-quality wines. With great respect for tradition and great professionalism, they produce wonderful and traditional quality wines.
