Why we think this is a classy wine to drink
The Credaro Five Tales Chardonnay 2019 is a medium bodied Margaret River Chardonnay from the award-winning family winery, Credaro. A fresh and modern style of Australian Chardonnay with ripe fruit flavours, a light touch of oak and balanced acidity. 15% of this Credaro Margaret River Chardonnay was matured in old French oak to provide a gentle oak flavour.
The Credaro Five Tales Chardonnay is pale straw in colour with a green hue. Fresh citrus and melon aromas with delicate floral hints that work well with the medium body of this wine and its stone fruit and fresh citrus flavours and a light touch of French oak. A smooth finish with balanced acidity and lingering ripe fruit flavour. The 2017 Credaro Five Tales Chardonnay is great at a BBQ or picnic with chicken, light finger foods, seafood or vegetarian cuisine.
About The Winery
The Credaro Family Estate winery is a story of true pioneers. The foundations of the winery today were laid in 1922 when Cesar Credaro settled in Margaret River after migrating from Northern Italy. For the next 60 years winemaking was very much for the family and neighbours.
Commercially the Credaro family started operations in the 1980s as grape growers supplying other established Margaret River wineries. This has led to the winery today with 140 hectares of vines over seven separate vineyards across Margaret River, in the regions of Wilyabrup, Carbunup, Treeton, Yallingup and Wallcliffe. The Credaro family produce all of their own wines, in their 1,200 tonne winery in northern Margaret River, which was built in 2003.
Whilst the family still own the estate, the winemaking itself is under the guidance of Dave Johnson who has a pedigree from wineries such as Moss Wood and Juniper Estate.
