Shiraz (or Syrah) wine - the lifeblood of the Australian wine industry
Barossa Shiraz wine is well-known all around the world. As are the Syrah wines of the Rhône valley in Southern France.
Lesser known are our cooler climate Syrah wines from the Adelaide Hills or Yarra. It is the same grape with a different name, lower alcohol and more elegant texture and flavours.
New Zealand, Argentina and Spain also make some excellent Shiraz/Syrah red wines. They are must-try wines for any true Shiraz aficionado.
