Why we think this is a classy wine to drink

Chocolate Coffee Oak Red Fruits Spice Pepper

From the very warm, high-altitude wine-growing region of Jumilla in Spain, Bodegas Alceño has conjured a top Syrah wine with the Alceño - Premium 50 Barricas. Every year a limited amount of 50 barrels (50 barricas) is produced.

Only the best Syrah and Monastrell grapes from the region's oldest vineyards are used in this wine. Thanks to its short maturation in French and American oak barrels, this wine has a perfect balance between fruity aromas and notes of oak.

A velvety soft and intensely fruity red wine from Spain. It has a bright, purplish red colour as well as a bouquet of ripe, red fruit, cocoa, smokiness and spices. An appealing, enormously fruity taste of raspberry, spice herbs and nuances of oak wood. The wine is well balanced and equipped with round tannins. The finish is long, beguiling and fruity.

Enjoy this Spanish Shiraz at a serving temperature of 16-18°C with a barbecue, roast lamb, Mediterranean dishes, beef roulades, seared mushrooms, chops, tapas or pies.

90 points from James Suckling and the La Guia Penin guide (Spain's revered wine guide) as well as being Commended at the International Wine Challenge 2017.
