Why we think this is a classy wine to drink

Fruity Floral Lemon Lime Citrus Honey

  • Made from hand-picked Gros Manseng and Petit Manseng grapes - two grape varieties unique to Pacherenc du Vic-Bilh in southwest France. The mix of Petit and Gros Manseng brings out a lovely sunshiney melon and lemon zest led wine with notes of fresh flowers.
  • A medium body wine with flavours of peaches, honeysuckle, hints of sweeter melon and honey together with a delightful oily texture from its 6 months maturing on lees.
  • A fresh dry white wine from Pacherenc du Vic-Bilh with power, richness and length. This tastes like an exotic premium Chablis Cru from a crisp year. Really something special!
  • A cracking barbecue wine that is as good with smoked salmon on toast, canneloni with langoustines and rich seafood and fish.

About The Winery

Domaine Sergent is located in the South-West of France, in the run-up to the Pyrenees. An area where grain, corn and grapes are next to each other. Real farmland with a rugged kitchen and equally rugged wines.

The sisters Brigitte and Corinne Dousseau have been running the wine estate for ten years in an environmentally friendly manner (no bio but something between conventional and organic). Father is also still active in the company. It measures nearly 20 hectares of vineyard with grape plants of no less than 35 years old.

That is very special for a wine company nowadays. The older the grapes, the more intense the wine, but also the lower the yield per hectare. Ladies at the helm is an exception in this region. The wines produced by the sisters are an argument to let more women run wine companies, because what they make is really beautiful. Both their red and their white are all taken care of and expressive, pure and balanced.
