A distinguished red Sancerre wine with body, concentration and grip. Made from 45-year-old vines, this Pinot Noir from the Loire has the texture of a ripe Pommard and the chalk terroir of Sancerre. Sourced from the Millet family where Francois and Monique Millet are current fifth generation winemakers and caretakers of this property.
Awarded 90 points by Wine Spectator: "Pure and very fresh, with a fine chalky spine that lets cherry, damson plum and violet notes stream through with abandon. Offers a long, unadorned finish."
Solid purple red in colour. Aromas of red cherry fruit, elderberry and wild strawberry. Full, ripe and tempting in its taste with juicy cherry and cassis fruit.
Great with risotto with mushrooms and truffles, lamb or Peking duck.

About The Winery
Domaine François Millet is located in the picturesque village of Bué surrounded by hills of vineyards and this was the place where the Millet family fell in love. Bernard and Pierre Millet discovered that the soils there offered many possibilities for planting Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir grapes. Since 1850 they have been making delicious wines in the Sancerre appellation. François and Monique Millet currently run the domain and are the fifth generation of winemakers within the family. They do a lot of research into the unique possibilities of the terroir, to express it in the wine.
