Why we think this is a classy wine to drink

Blueberry Blackberry Spice Pepper Black Fruits

  • Sourced from the Jaume family, owner and winemaker across 75 hectares of premium Rhone vineyards. This is from premium vineyards at the foot of Mount Ventoux in Vaucluse.
  • From Robert Parker's WIne Advocate: "The best Les Gelinottes I've tasted, the 2017 Ventoux les Gelinottes is a 50-50 blend of Grenache and Syrah. It mixes elements of both grapes, like tar and red raspberries, in a medium to full-bodied wine that's rich and velvety yet juicy and mouthwatering at the same time, finishing on notes or orange zest."
  • A wonderfully juicy and full Ventoux made without the influence of wood. An intense purple colour with aromas of black fruit such as blackberries and berries. For a Ventoux this is full of flavour with a lot of black fruit, and a delicious texture with ripe and soft tannins. A fantastic vintage. Delicious wine for everyday life.
  • Goes well at a barbecue, or with poultry, veal, pasta with meat sauce and pork.

About The Winery

The Jaume family is famous in the Rhône region and wins medals and scores one after the other. It is a family that has been making its own wines since 1826. For a long time they only owned 9 hectares of vineyards, but now the company has grown into a 75-hectare domain.

They produce wines under the name of Domaine Grand Veneur, Clos Sixte and Alain Jaume. Based on their philosophy that 'great wine only comes from grapes that express the powers of the soil', each wine must optimally display its specific soil. The current generation, Sébastien and Christophe, drives a domain with very old vineyards and a very modern cellar. The best of both worlds.
